Nio, the Chinese electric vehicle maker, has announced that all 999 units of the limited edition of its executive flagship sedan, the ET9, have been sold out. The company revealed that the ET9 has been met with overwhelming demand, surpassing their initial expectations.

The limited edition of the ET9 was launched at Nio Day 2024 event in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on December 21. The sedan, with a starting price of RMB 788,000 yuan ($108,000) including batteries, marks Nio’s highest-priced model to date.

Following the sell-out of the limited edition, Nio has closed the reservation channel for those units. However, customers can still place orders for the standard version of the ET9.

The ET9 is available with a battery pack capacity of 100 kWh, offering a CLTC range of up to 650 kilometers. Deliveries of the sedan are expected to begin in March 2025.

Customers who opt for the BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental model will receive a discount of RMB 128,000 on the vehicle purchase price and will pay a monthly fee of RMB 1,128 for the battery.

The limited edition of the ET9 comes with exclusive features such as unique body logos, interior logos, carpet lights, NOMI Mate 3.0, and 23-inch wheels. In comparison, the standard version offers a more basic set of features.

Customers who place a deposit for the ET9 before January 31, 2025, will receive a reduction of RMB 10,000 in the purchase price by paying a RMB 5,000 deposit. Additionally, they will enjoy 100 hours of exclusive chauffeur service valid for 3 years, along with 12 other benefits.

The ET9 is built on Nio’s latest NT 3.0 vehicle platform, featuring a vehicle system named Cedar. This new platform marks a significant advancement from Nio’s previous models, which were based on the NT 1.0 and NT 2.0 platforms.

Overall, the success of the ET9’s limited edition demonstrates Nio’s popularity and continued growth in the electric vehicle market. With its innovative features and high demand, the ET9 is poised to make a significant impact in the luxury sedan segment.
