Mr. Li highlighted that 2025 is a crucial year for NIO’s battery swapping network expansion, aiming to offer a convenient charging experience for NIO, ONVO, and partner auto brands users.

Since the launch of the first battery swapping station in Shenzhen on May 20, 2018, NIO took significant strides in expanding its network. It took 1,508 days to reach the first 1,000 stations, 477 days to grow to 2,000, and only 434 days to surpass 3,000 stations in total.

In the second half of 2024, NIO rapidly expanded its battery swapping network, adding 576 new stations. By December 2024, the company completed its network spanning China’s 9 main highways, connecting major cities and 12 key city clusters. Users now have access to seamless battery swaps along highways, with a station every 200 kilometers on average, linking over 700 cities.

As of January 27, NIO has deployed 3,101 battery swapping stations, 4,343 charging stations, and 25,424 charging piles nationwide.

Furthermore, NIO has been collaborating with other automakers to enhance charging and battery swapping connectivity. On January 17, 2025, NIO partnered with BAIC Group’s premium electric vehicle brand ARCFOX to provide ARCFOX owners with access to NIO’s charging network, offering efficient and user-friendly charging services across the country.
