Introducing NIO’s FIREFLY: A Closer Look at the Upcoming Electric Vehicle
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently unveiled new details about NIO’s FIREFLY model, which is set to redefine the electric vehicle market. The upcoming FIREFLY model will feature a 42.1kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC-rated range of 420km.
On December 21, 2024, NIO made headlines by launching its third brand, FIREFLY. The debut model, also named FIREFLY, went up for pre-sale with an enticing price tag of 148,800 yuan. Positioned as a compact electric vehicle, the FIREFLY model is scheduled to hit the market in April 2025.

The FIREFLY model boasts a biomimetic design language, featuring triple circular LED headlights integrated into a sleek black-striped grille at the front fascia.
With a well-proportioned two-tone exterior and hidden door handles, the side profile of the FIREFLY model exudes a sense of sophistication and modernity.

Measuring 4,003mm in length, 1,781mm in width, and 1,557mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,615mm, the FIREFLY model offers a compact yet spacious interior.
Equipped with a roof spoiler, rear window wiper, and a distinct trio light signature at the rear, the FIREFLY model combines style and functionality seamlessly.
With a turning radius of 4.7 meters and nine airbags for safety, the FIREFLY model also offers a front trunk capacity of 92L and a maximum rear cargo capacity of 1,250L when the rear seats are folded down.
Under the hood, the FIREFLY features a rear-wheel-drive electric motor with a maximum output of 105 kW, coupled with a six-in-one electric drive system. The vehicle is powered by a 42.1kWh battery pack, providing an impressive CLTC-rated range of 420km.
