Nio has officially released the updated ET5 sedan and ET5 Touring wagon at its showrooms in China today. These new models are set to receive feature upgrades with no changes in price, offering customers an enhanced driving experience.

The company has shared images on Weibo showcasing the updated ET5 and ET5 Touring, which are scheduled to be launched on May 25. Customers who pre-order these vehicles will receive five years of free battery swap services or 240 free battery swap service vouchers.

Nio began pre-sales of the refreshed ES6 SUV, EC Coupe SUV, ET5, and ET5 Touring on May 10. The refreshed ES6 and EC6 were launched on May 16, with deliveries starting on May 20. These models have undergone slight tweaks to their exteriors, focusing mainly on interior upgrades and the autonomous driving chip.

The center screens of these vehicles have been changed to a horizontal layout similar to the one found in Nio’s ET9 executive flagship sedan. Additionally, the smart driving chip has been upgraded to a single Shenji NX9031 chip developed in-house by Nio.

Other upgrades include improved front side window glass that blocks out a significant amount of ultraviolet and infrared rays, enhancing passenger comfort. Despite these enhancements, the starting prices for the updated ES6 and EC6 remain unchanged.

Nio is expected to follow a similar strategy for the updated ET5 and ET5 Touring, both starting at RMB 298,000 for the 2024 model year. These models play a crucial role for Nio, contributing to a significant portion of the company’s deliveries in 2024.

In April, Nio delivered 23,900 vehicles, including models under the Nio brand, Onvo, and Firefly. The company’s overall deliveries in the January-April period saw a 44.49 percent year-on-year increase. Nio continues to expand its product lineup, offering a range of electric vehicles to cater to different customer preferences.

As Nio focuses on innovation and customer satisfaction, the release of the updated ET5 and ET5 Touring demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and a superior driving experience for its customers.
