Nissan’s Dongfeng joint venture recently introduced the N7, a brand new all-electric sedan designed specifically for the Chinese market. Unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show on October 15, the N7 marks the first all-electric model under Dongfeng Nissan’s innovative new energy architecture.
The N7 is said to set a new standard for pure electric vehicles among Chinese families. With dimensions of 4930mm in length, 1895mm in width, and 1487mm in height, the sedan boasts a sleek design with a wheelbase of 2915mm, slightly shorter than other electric vehicles in its class.
Featuring a striking 0.618 “golden ratio” stance, the N7 showcases Nissan’s iconic V-Motion design at the front, complete with V-shaped light clusters. The sedan also includes frameless doors, a hidden waistline, and concealed door handles, all contributing to its aerodynamic efficiency with a drag coefficient of just 0.208. At the rear, the N7 is equipped with 882 OLED light-emitting units, creating a unique interactive light design that complements the front light group.
Inside the cockpit, the N7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, offering 32GB of memory and 256GB of storage space. The car is equipped with an industry-first adaptive posture AI core algorithm, ensuring the driver remains in the most comfortable position through continuous learning and over-the-air updates. Additionally, the N7 features an AI zero-pressure cloud blanket seat that utilizes 49 sensors to automatically adjust the seat back, waist support, and leg support in real-time based on changes in body pressure.
The Nissan N7 comes with a high-end intelligent driving system developed in collaboration with Momenta, offering features like high-speed pilot NOA and city memory pilot NOA for daily commuting scenarios. The system also includes full-scene auto parking functionality, providing a seamless driving experience for the driver.
Despite Nissan’s struggles in the Chinese market, the N7 aims to revitalize the brand’s presence with its cutting-edge technology and sleek design. As the production version of the N7 approaches, we can expect a more market-friendly name to appeal to Chinese consumers.
