Wuling recently unveiled the official images of their upcoming Zhiguang EV on December 27th. Despite being referred to as a kei car, this electric vehicle is actually larger in size and offers a unique combination of features that set it apart from traditional cars. With 20 expandable storage areas, the Wuling Zhiguang EV promises to be a versatile and practical choice for drivers.
The exterior of the Zhiguang EV bears a resemblance to a 5-door version of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. The rear doors slide open like a van, providing easy access to the spacious interior. The tailgate of the vehicle opens up to nearly 90°, making loading and unloading a breeze. The dimensions of the Zhiguang EV measure 3685mm in length, 1530mm in width, and 1750mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2600mm.
One of the standout features of the Wuling Zhiguang EV is its storage flexibility. With 20 M6 standard threaded mounting holes, the vehicle can accommodate various expansion accessories such as storage compartments and placement racks. The rear bench and front passenger seat can be folded down to create a flat sleeping space if needed. The trunk offers 527 liters of storage space, which can be expanded to 1117 liters with all seats folded down. Additionally, a luggage rack mounted on the roof adds to the vehicle’s storage capacity.
The Zhiguang EV is powered by a 30kW electric motor and features a 17.6kWh battery pack, providing a top speed of 100 km/h. The vehicle is equipped with a front slow charging port for 220V AC external discharge and a rear 12V DC power interface. Wuling has made nine optimizations to reduce wind resistance, enhancing the overall efficiency of the vehicle.
The Wuling Zhiguang EV is expected to go on sale in early 2025, with prices starting at around 50,000 yuan (6850 USD). The possibility of exports makes this electric combi a promising option for international markets. With its unique design and practical features, the Wuling Zhiguang EV is set to make a mark in the electric vehicle segment.
