Onvo hits record deliveries in Aug as L90 reaches 10,000 units

Onvo, a subsidiary of Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO), has achieved a significant milestone this month with record deliveries of its flagship electric SUV, the L90. The brand announced that 10,000 units of the L90 have been delivered, surpassing internal targets and marking a new high for the company.

The 10,000th L90 was delivered at the Chengdu auto show, just 29 days after the SUV began deliveries on August 1. This rapid achievement highlights the strong demand for the L90 and positions it as Onvo’s highest-selling model in a single month in the company’s history.

Shen Fei, president of Onvo, revealed the record-breaking delivery numbers during a briefing at the Chengdu auto show. The 10,000th L90 was handed over to well-known Chinese actor Guo Tao by Qin Lihong, co-founder and president of Nio Inc.

Onvo introduced the L60 midsize SUV in September 2024, and the brand has been on a steady growth trajectory since then. The previous delivery record was set at 10,528 units in December last year, making the current achievement of 10,000 L90 deliveries a significant milestone.

At the Chengdu auto show, Onvo unveiled the seven-seat variant of the L90, showcasing the brand’s commitment to offering versatile and innovative electric vehicles. The L90 was officially launched on July 31, with deliveries commencing on August 1. The current deliveries are for the six-seat version, with the seven-seat variant expected to be available starting late September.

With the L90 exceeding 10,000 deliveries in August, it is poised to become Nio Inc’s highest-selling model by monthly deliveries. The ES6 SUV currently holds the company’s record for the highest monthly deliveries, with 11,118 units delivered in July 2023.

Deutsche Bank recently projected that Nio Inc’s August deliveries could reach 32,000 units, representing significant month-on-month and year-on-year growth. The expectations include deliveries for Nio, Onvo, and Firefly brands, with Onvo projected to contribute 17,000 units to the total.

The success of the L90 reflects Onvo’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction in the electric vehicle market. With record deliveries and a growing lineup of electric SUVs, Onvo is poised to continue its upward trajectory in the industry.
