Onvo, a subsidiary of Nio (NYSE: NIO), is gearing up for the upcoming Chinese New Year holiday period by expanding the availability of battery swap stations and offering free battery swap services to car owners traveling on highways during the holiday rush.

Vice President of Onvo, Xia Qinghua, announced that the brand plans to add 1,000 additional 60-kWh battery packs to battery swap stations before the Chinese New Year. These batteries will be prioritized for swap stations located along key highway segments to cater to the increased travel demand during the holiday period.

From January 22 to February 12, all Onvo owners will be able to enjoy unlimited free battery swap and charging services at swap stations along highways. This initiative aims to provide convenience and peace of mind to Onvo owners embarking on long journeys during the holiday season.

The Chinese New Year holiday is set to begin on January 28 and will last until February 4, culminating in the traditional Lantern Festival on February 12. With the increased availability of batteries and free swap services, Onvo is committed to ensuring a smooth and seamless travel experience for its customers.

Onvo made its debut in September 2024 with the launch of its first model, the L60 electric SUV. The L60 has been well-received in the market, with December deliveries surpassing 10,000 units for the first time. The model has accumulated a total of 20,761 deliveries by the end of December, with the standard-range version being the preferred choice among customers.

Like Nio’s main branded models, the Onvo L60 supports battery swap, offering customers a convenient and efficient way to recharge their vehicles. Nio recently announced that it has exceeded its goal of having 1,000 battery swap stations available for Onvo by the end of 2024, with a total of 1,062 stations now operational.

With a network of over 3,000 battery swap stations in China, including nearly 1,000 located along highways, Nio is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles and ensure a seamless charging experience for its customers. As the Chinese EV market continues to expand, Onvo remains committed to providing innovative solutions and exceptional service to its customers.
