The Nissan Sakura: A Stylish and Efficient Electric Kei Car

Introduced in 2022, the Nissan Sakura is a sleek and eco-friendly alternative to traditional petrol-powered vehicles. Replacing the 659cc petrol engine found in the Dayz, the Sakura features a front-mounted 63bhp electric motor powered by a 20kWh lithium ion battery. Despite its compact size, the Sakura offers a respectable 112-mile range on a single charge, making it a practical choice for daily commuting.

Performance-wise, the Sakura can accelerate from 0-62mph in 9.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 81mph. Its agile handling is further enhanced by a tight 4.8m turning circle, making it ideal for navigating city streets. With seating for four passengers and 107 litres of luggage space, the Sakura strikes a balance between practicality and efficiency.

One of the standout features of the Sakura is its striking design. Embracing the boxy aesthetic typical of kei cars, the Sakura adds a touch of individuality with its distinctive styling. The car’s 14-inch wheels give it a unique and modern look that sets it apart from its competitors.

Inside, the Sakura impresses with its spacious and well-appointed cabin. The front bench seat provides additional room for passengers, while the dashboard boasts a clean layout and a range of tech features. From the infotainment system with Apple CarPlay to advanced driver assistance systems, the Sakura offers a high level of convenience and connectivity.

Unlike some budget-friendly electric vehicles, the Sakura’s interior materials are of a good quality, giving the car a more upscale feel. Overall, the Nissan Sakura combines style, efficiency, and functionality in a compact package that is both affordable and environmentally friendly.
