The Renaissance of Retailers: Polestar’s Success Story
According to the CEO of Polestar, there is a “renaissance of retailers” happening in the automotive industry. This resurgence in sales can be attributed to the firm’s decision to increase its physical presence through more retailers actively selling its cars.
Initially starting as an online-only brand with limited physical locations, Polestar has undergone a transformation under the leadership of CEO Michael Lohscheller. Since taking on the top job last October, Lohscheller has spearheaded the expansion of a physical retail network that focuses on “active selling”.
“Leasing or buying a car is a significant decision that requires a personal touch. Not everyone feels comfortable making such a commitment solely through online channels,” Lohscheller explained to Autocar.
