Polestar, the premium electric car brand owned by Geely, has officially launched sales in France, marking its entry into the 28th market worldwide. Customers in France can now place orders for the entire Polestar range, which includes the Polestar 2, Polestar 3, and Polestar 4 models.

The brand’s approach in France will involve a combination of direct-to-consumer sales through the Polestar website and physical retail locations. CEO Michael Lohscheller expressed excitement about introducing Polestar’s performance EVs to the rapidly growing EV market in France. The company has already received positive reviews in the country and anticipates a growing presence on French roads in the coming months.

The first retail site is scheduled to open in the historic racing town of Le Mans in July, with plans to expand to up to ten key cities later in the year. These locations will be supported by selected partners from the Volvo Cars network.

Stephane Le Guevel, Managing Director of Polestar France, outlined an ambitious expansion plan for the brand in France, aiming to establish up to ten sales points in 2025 and further accelerate growth in 2026. The brand’s focus on performance, design, and sustainability aligns well with the preferences of French consumers.

In addition to retail locations, Polestar has set up a comprehensive service network across France, with over one hundred service points nationwide to provide ongoing customer support.

On the financial front, Polestar reported a 4% increase in year-over-year revenue for the first quarter of 2025, amounting to $608 million. This growth is attributed to higher electric vehicle sales and an improved gross margin compared to the previous year.

The company achieved a positive gross margin of 7%, a significant improvement from the negative margin reported in the first quarter of 2024. These positive financial results reflect Polestar’s continued growth and success in the electric vehicle market.

As Polestar expands its presence in France and continues to innovate in the electric vehicle space, the brand is poised for further success and recognition in the industry. Customers in France can now experience the performance and sustainability of Polestar’s electric cars firsthand, contributing to the brand’s growth and reputation in the market.
