Raleigh has introduced a new addition to its lineup of bicycles with the launch of the Raleigh ONE, an electric bike designed specifically for urban mobility in Europe. Combining classic British cycling heritage with modern connected technology, the Raleigh ONE is positioned as the ultimate city e-bike.

The sleek and minimalist design of the Raleigh ONE is complemented by high-quality components and smart features that can be accessed through a dedicated app and membership system. While initially available in Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK, the Raleigh ONE is designed to appeal to riders worldwide.

Powered by a 360Wh removable battery, the Raleigh ONE offers up to 80 km of range in eco mode and 50 km in boost mode. The 250W Mivice rear hub motor provides assistance up to 25 km/h, in compliance with European e-bike regulations. The bike features a Gates carbon belt drive for low maintenance, hydraulic disc brakes for reliable stopping power, and integrated smart lighting.

Connectivity is a key focus of the Raleigh ONE, with features such as auto-unlocking, journey tracking, alarm functions, GPS location, and theft alerts accessible through the app. A membership program unlocks additional features, including digital unlock access and insurance coverage.

The membership options include a free base plan with essential features, a core plan for expanded services, and an icon plan with premium features such as remote arming and full insurance coverage. The paid plans offer lower annual rates and a 30-day free trial of the icon plan to entice users.

Priced at €2,699 / £2,399, the Raleigh ONE is competitively positioned among premium urban e-bikes and offers fast charging capabilities, built-in lights, a belt drive, and a comprehensive theft protection ecosystem. With the backing of Raleigh’s extensive dealer network and after-sales service, the ONE provides a worry-free and future-proof urban riding experience.

Selin Can, EVP of Mobility at Accell Group, Raleigh’s parent company, describes the Raleigh ONE as “a bold fusion of heritage and innovation.” The combination of Raleigh’s cycling legacy with modern technology and connectivity sets the ONE apart in the e-bike market.

Overall, the Raleigh ONE represents a bold step towards the future of e-bikes, combining traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. While the inclusion of basic tech features for free is a positive aspect, the requirement to pay for access to certain hardware or features may be a point of contention for some riders. The Raleigh ONE is not just an e-bike; it’s a statement of intent from Raleigh to stay relevant in a rapidly evolving mobility landscape.
