Denza, the premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), has unveiled its latest model, the Denza N9 SUV. This six-seat hybrid SUV is a powerhouse, measuring 5,258 mm in length and boasting three electric motors for optimal performance.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in China recently released its catalog of approved models for public feedback, and the Denza N9 made the cut. From October 16 to 22, the public can provide their input on this cutting-edge vehicle before it hits the market.

With a product model number QCJ6530ABHEV1, the Denza N9 is manufactured at BYD’s production sites across China, including Changsha, Hefei, Jinan, Zhengzhou, and Shenzhen. This plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is a beast, measuring 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm.

Weighing in at 3,130/3,245 kilograms, the Denza N9 can reach a top speed of 230 kilometers per hour. What sets this model apart is its power source – three electric motors. The front motor boasts a peak power of 200 kW, while the two rear motors each deliver 240 kW. Additionally, the SUV features an engine with a displacement of 1995 ml and power output of 152 kW.

Denza teased the N9 earlier through images on its Weibo account, showcasing its impressive dimensions. Zhao Changjiang, the brand’s head of sales, revealed that the SUV will be powered by BYD’s e3 technology, offering tri-motor independent drive with dual-motor independent steering at the rear wheels. This technology, a scaled-down version of BYD’s e⁴ technology, promises top-notch performance and efficiency.

The Denza N9 follows the launch of the Z9GT on September 20, which featured e3 technology and started at a price of RMB 334,800 ($47,290). With BYD’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, the Denza N9 is set to make waves in the automotive industry with its advanced features and impressive specifications.

As the public provides feedback on this groundbreaking model, anticipation is high for its official release and entry into the Chinese market. Stay tuned for more updates on the Denza N9 and BYD’s latest advancements in the electric vehicle sector.
