BYD’s Tang L SUV, weighing 2,882 kg, boasts impressive acceleration capabilities, able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, as per its filing information. This powerful vehicle will utilize the same dual-motor powertrain found in the Han L sedan, with the front motor reaching a peak power of 230 kW and the rear motor peaking at an impressive 580 kW.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently released a catalog of approved models for public comment, which includes the BYD Tang L. This step marks the final regulatory process for a vehicle to be sold in China, allowing the public to provide feedback between January 11-17.

The Tang L is available in three Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) versions, with model numbers BYD6500AJBEV4, BYD6500AJBEV5, and BYD6500AJBEV6. Additionally, there are five Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) versions, with model numbers BYD6500AJHEV1 through BYD6500AJHEV5.

The BEV version with model number BYD6500AJBEV4 features the same dual-motor powertrain as the Han L, offering 230 kW peak power from the front motor and an impressive 580 kW peak power from the rear motor. The SUV is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, a remarkable feat for a vehicle of its size and weight.

Notably, some variants of the Tang L come equipped with LiDAR on the roof, signaling a step towards more advanced intelligent driving capabilities. This addition sets the Tang L apart from its predecessors in the Tang and Han family models.

Overall, the BYD Tang L SUV presents a formidable combination of power, speed, and advanced technology, making it a standout option in the electric vehicle market. With its impressive performance and innovative features, the Tang L is sure to make a significant impact in the automotive industry.
