Huawei’s new automotive brand, Maextro, has unveiled its first model, the S800 sedan, in collaboration with Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC). The S800 comes in two variants – EREV and BEV, with options for four- and five-seats, as well as dual- and triple-motor configurations.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently released the latest batch of approved models for public comment, including the Maextro S800. This step is crucial for the model’s final approval for sale in China.

The S800 will be produced at JAC’s factory in Hefei, Anhui province, with four versions available – two EREV models (HFC7150DREEV1 and HFC7150DREEV2) and two BEV models (HFC7000DEV1 and HFC7000DEV2).

Both the EREV and BEV variants of the S800 share the same dimensions of 5,480 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,536 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm. They are offered in 4-seat and 5-seat versions.

The S800 EREV comes in two weight options – 2,731 kg and 2,859 kg, with a top speed of 200 km/h. On the other hand, the S800 BEV has two weight options – 2,604 kg and 2,731 kg, with a top speed of 210 km/h.

Both variants have dual-motor and tri-motor configurations. The dual-motor version delivers 160 kW peak power for the front motor and 230 kW for the rear motor, while the tri-motor version has a front motor with 160 kW peak power and two rear motors with 237.5 kW peak power each.

The S800 is equipped with lithium nickel-cobalt manganese-acid batteries from CATL, although the capacity is currently undisclosed. Huawei unveiled the S800 at a product launch event in November, with pre-orders now open at an estimated price range of RMB 1 million to RMB 1.5 million.

Maextro is Huawei’s fourth new automotive brand created in partnership with local carmakers, positioning itself as a luxury executive sedan in the market. With a focus on innovation and cutting-edge technology, the S800 is set to make a significant impact in the automotive industry.

In conclusion, the Maextro S800 sedan represents a new era of electric vehicles, combining luxury, performance, and sustainability in one sleek package. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking model from Huawei and JAC.
