Nio’s sub-brand Onvo is gearing up to unveil its second model, the L90, at the upcoming Shanghai auto show. The electric SUV is making waves as it promises to come equipped with a larger battery pack than its predecessor, the L60. The L90 boasts an impressive 85 kWh capacity battery pack, setting it apart in the electric vehicle market.
The Onvo L90 has officially been included in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) regulatory catalog for public comment. This marks the final step in the regulatory process before the model can be sold in China. The public has the opportunity to provide feedback on the L90 from April 17-23.
The catalog reveals that the L90 will be available in two versions – a single-motor and a dual-motor model, both with six seats. The vehicle will be manufactured at Nio’s F2 plant in Anhui. Measuring 5,145 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,766/1,786 mm in height, the L90 is a spacious SUV with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm.
Powered by electric motors from Nio’s electric motor division XPT, the L90 offers a peak power of 340 kW for the single-motor version and an additional 100 kW for the dual-motor version. The SUV supports a top speed of 200 kilometers per hour and is available with both lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and Li-ion ternary battery options from BYD, CATL, and CALB.
One notable feature of the L90 is its 85 kWh battery pack, a significant upgrade from the L60’s 60 kWh capacity. This larger battery pack is essential for meeting the energy demands of a mid to large-size SUV like the L90. The model is designed to cater to large families and is set to be officially launched in the third quarter of this year.
As Onvo prepares to introduce the L90 to the market, the company is confident that the new SUV will make a splash in the electric vehicle sector. With its advanced technology, spacious interior, and impressive battery capacity, the Onvo L90 is poised to be a game-changer in the world of electric SUVs. Stay tuned for more updates on the official unveiling of the Onvo L90 at the Shanghai auto show.
