Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the highly anticipated SU7 Ultra, a powerful electric supercar that promises to deliver an exhilarating driving experience. The company recently filed for configuration changes for the SU7 Ultra, indicating that a 2-seat version may be in the works alongside the previously announced 5-seat model.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in China released new regulatory catalogs for public comment, with the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra listed for configuration changes. The public has the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed changes between February 20-26, marking the final regulatory step before the model can be officially sold in China.

One of the main changes highlighted in the filing is the option for either a 5-seat or 2-seat configuration for the SU7 Ultra. This addition suggests that Xiaomi is looking to offer a more focused and dynamic driving experience with the 2-seat version, catering to enthusiasts seeking a more sport-oriented ride.

In addition to the seating options, the filing also includes updates to the tire sizes available for the SU7 Ultra, further enhancing the performance and handling capabilities of the electric supercar.

Xiaomi initially unveiled the SU7 Ultra at a product launch event in October 2024, with pre-sales starting at a price of RMB 814,900 ($111,870). The official launch was originally scheduled for March 2025, but Xiaomi’s founder and CEO, Lei Jun, recently hinted at a possible release date at the end of February.

With a target of selling 10,000 units of the SU7 Ultra this year, Xiaomi is positioning the electric supercar as a key player in the high-performance vehicle market. The model has already made headlines for its impressive lap times at renowned tracks like the Nürburgring in Germany, showcasing its exceptional speed and agility.

The latest regulatory filing also reveals a range of optional features available for the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, allowing customers to customize their driving experience to suit their preferences. From advanced technology to premium finishes, the SU7 Ultra offers a range of options to enhance both performance and comfort.

As Xiaomi prepares to officially launch the SU7 Ultra, anticipation is building among car enthusiasts and tech enthusiasts alike. With its cutting-edge design, powerful performance, and innovative features, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is set to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new release from Xiaomi.
