Shanghai (Gasgoo)- SAIC Mobility, the leading mobility service brand under SAIC Motor, recently announced the successful completion of its Series C financing round, raising more than 1.3 billion yuan. This significant milestone marks the largest fundraising event in China’s mobility service sector over the past three years, showcasing strong support from both the capital market and local governments for the company’s innovative “one-stop smart mobility ecosystem” strategy.

The Series C financing round has brought in strategic support from SAIC Motor, industrial funds, and local government entities, setting the stage for SAIC Mobility to accelerate its growth and expansion. The company is set to focus on four key technological pillars—big data, artificial intelligence, smart transportation, and intelligent safety—building on its existing investments in areas such as Robotaxi operations and proprietary language models. These technological advancements will drive operational efficiency, elevate service quality, and enhance safety standards through AI-driven innovation in the mobility sector.

With the new funding in place, SAIC Mobility has outlined a refined strategic blueprint centered around three core business pillars—individual mobility, corporate mobility, and future mobility—powered by cutting-edge technology and innovative services.

Under the individual mobility segment, SAIC Mobility’s ride-hailing network currently operates in nearly 100 cities across China. The company plans to expand its presence in overseas markets while strengthening its position in key domestic cities. Leveraging AI technology, a precision operations strategy will be implemented to enhance dispatch efficiency, optimize the entire business chain, and improve both user experience and operational performance.

Within the corporate mobility sector, SAIC Mobility has transitioned from offering basic vehicle services to establishing a comprehensive business travel ecosystem. Its corporate mobility service brand, known as “Xiangdao Zuche” in Chinese Pinyin, now operates in over 150 cities with a fleet of more than 25,000 vehicles, catering to over 5,000 enterprise clients. The company has also provided transportation services for over 600 large-scale domestic and international events. With the Series C funding, SAIC Mobility aims to expand its focus on long-term corporate leasing and premium chauffeur services, while venturing into public transport, hotel, and dining integration to create a holistic business travel ecosystem centered around enterprise mobility.

In the realm of future mobility, SAIC Mobility’s Robotaxi business is gaining momentum with successful commercial deployment. As China’s first L4 autonomous car service platform supported by a major automaker, SAIC Mobility’s Robotaxi has been operational since 2021, completing over 330,000 rides across 48,000 service points and covering more than 2.5 million kilometers. The company plans to leverage resources from SAIC Motor and industry partners to establish a closed-loop ecosystem integrating vehicles, technology, and platform. Collaborating with shareholder Momenta, SAIC Mobility aims to launch an L4 Robotaxi fleet in Shanghai, with a vision to scale up to 200 vehicles by 2026, driving the sustainable and high-quality commercialization of autonomous mobility.
