SAIC Volkswagen Introduces the Teramont Pro SUV Powered by Fifth-Generation EA888 Engine

SAIC Volkswagen recently unveiled the Teramont Pro SUV, which is equipped with the company’s latest fifth-generation EA888 engine. The vehicle boasts a new design language with a closed-off grille that seamlessly integrates with the headlights and black trims, creating a bold and eye-catching aesthetic.

Featuring hidden door handles, the side profile of the Teramont Pro gives the SUV a sleek and modern look. With dimensions measuring 5,158mm in length, 1,991mm in width, and 1,788mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2,980mm, the vehicle offers ample space for passengers and cargo.

Inside the Teramont Pro, drivers will find a fully liquid crystal instrument cluster, a floating center console screen, and a passenger-side display screen. The SUV also includes luxurious features such as a panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon audio system, and a 30-color ambient lighting system for added comfort and convenience.

In terms of smart driving capabilities, the Teramont Pro is equipped with Volkswagen Group’s IQ. Pilot driver assistance system, which supports Level 2+ assisted driving functions to navigate China’s complex road conditions with ease. The MOS 3.0 GP infotainment system, integrated with DeepSeek’s AI large model, offers a seamless and intelligent user experience.

Powering the Teramont Pro is Volkswagen’s fifth-generation EA888 2.0T engine, delivering a maximum power output of 200kW and a peak torque of 400Nm. With a WLTC-rated fuel consumption of just 8.35L/100km and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.6 seconds, the SUV offers impressive performance. The engine incorporates advanced technologies like a variable geometry turbocharger (VTG), a 500-bar ultra-high-pressure fuel system, and a full-range Miller cycle for enhanced efficiency.

The Teramont Pro also features a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and the 4Motion intelligent all-wheel-drive system, ensuring optimal stability and control on various road surfaces.
