Škoda Auto, the Czech automobile manufacturer, has achieved a milestone in its financial performance for the year 2024. The company reported a record sales revenue of €27.8bn, marking a 4.7% increase from the previous year. Operating profit also saw a significant surge of 30% to €2.3bn, resulting in a return on sales of 8.3%.

One of the key factors contributing to these record financial figures was higher vehicle sales, positive mix effects, and favourable exchange rates. Additionally, the diligent execution of the Next Level Efficiency+ programme focused on cost optimization played a vital role in Škoda Auto’s success.

Holger Peters, board member for Finance, IT, and Legal Affairs at Škoda Auto, expressed optimism about the company’s future prospects. He highlighted the importance of financial consistency, stability, and investments in products, digitalization, and production processes to strengthen Škoda Auto’s position in the market.

In terms of vehicle deliveries, Škoda Auto witnessed a 6.9% year-on-year increase to 926,600 units in 2024. The Octavia emerged as the top-selling model with 215,700 vehicles sold, reflecting a 12.4% growth. The company’s largest markets remained Germany, the Czech Republic, and the UK, with notable sales growth in Türkiye, Poland, and Spain.

Production figures also showed a modest increase of 2.0% in 2024, with 1,027,300 vehicles manufactured. Looking ahead, Škoda Auto has ambitious plans to expand its global footprint, including the establishment of a new plant in Vietnam. The company is also set to introduce the India-specific Kylaq urban SUV to boost sales in this key market.

Overall, Škoda Auto’s strong financial performance, coupled with its strategic investments and expansion plans, position the company for continued success in the automotive industry. With a focus on innovation, efficiency, and customer centricity, Škoda Auto is poised to make a significant impact in the global market.
