Stellantis restructures organisation to enhance global coordination

Stellantis has recently announced a major organizational restructuring aimed at enhancing local decision-making capabilities while maintaining global coordination. This restructuring is intended to strike the right balance between regional autonomy and global responsibilities, thereby expediting decision-making and execution processes.

One of the key changes includes the integration of software activities into the Product Development & Technology organization, which will be led by Ned Curic. This integration is expected to streamline the development and launch of innovative products and services across all Stellantis brands and markets.

Antonio Filosa, in addition to his role as COO of America’s Regions, will now also oversee the global leadership of Quality, a crucial aspect of Stellantis’ commitment to customers. Furthermore, the company has merged its Corporate Affairs and Communications divisions under the leadership of Clara Ingen-Housz to enhance stakeholder engagement.

In addition to these changes, a new marketing office has been established, led by Olivier François, to consolidate brand marketing efforts, including advertising, global events, and sponsorships. As part of the restructuring, Stellantis has appointed key individuals to lead various brands and units within the company.

Stellantis chairman John Elkann expressed optimism about the organizational changes, stating that they will simplify the company’s structure and enhance local agility and execution rigor. He emphasized the company’s commitment to providing customers with a wide range of combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicles to drive growth.

The search for a new permanent CEO is ongoing, with a Special Committee of the Board of Directors managing the appointment process. The company expects to conclude the selection process within the first half of 2025.

In other news, Stellantis successfully met its target of reducing US vehicle inventories by over 100,000 units by the end of 2024, as reported by Reuters last month. These developments mark significant progress for the automotive giant as it continues to adapt to changing market dynamics and consumer preferences.
