Stellantis stop-drive action Europe

Stellantis has recently issued a stop-drive action across Europe for specific models of Citroën C3 and DS3 vehicles due to concerns over Takata airbags. These affected vehicles, which were manufactured between 2009 and 2019, are part of a larger recall campaign that commenced over a year ago.

Owners of these vehicles are strongly advised to cease driving their cars immediately and contact their local dealers to arrange for a complimentary repair. The stop-drive action initially targets vehicles in Southern Europe, with plans to expand to northern regions in the near future.

Various factors such as airbag specifications, vehicle age, climate conditions, and alerts from regulatory authorities are taken into consideration when deciding on such actions. Following a recent incident in France, Stellantis has intensified its efforts to prioritize customer safety.

Stellantis is actively reaching out to affected customers with detailed information regarding the stop-drive order. Owners can use the VIN check tool on the Citroën website, contact their local dealers, or reach out to the customer service hotline to determine if their vehicle is impacted.

It is crucial for owners who have changed their contact information to update their details to ensure effective communication. The company is leveraging its entire network, including suppliers, dealerships, and manufacturing sites, to facilitate this action and provide a safe and convenient solution for customers.

Stellantis remains committed to taking swift, transparent, and responsible actions to address this issue. In a recent development, Antonio Filosa has been appointed as the new CEO of Stellantis, succeeding Carlos Tavares who resigned in December 2024 amidst challenges in the US market.
