eVitara Interior Space and Technology Review
Upon closer inspection, it becomes evident that the eVitara’s platform may still be hindered by some outdated design compromises, particularly in terms of interior space. While the front of the vehicle offers a comfortable driving experience with adjustable seats, the rear legroom is comparable to its competitors. However, the high floor in the rear results in a slightly uncomfortable seating position. The most disappointing aspect is the boot space, which is a mere 244 litres, significantly less than the 440 litres offered by its rivals. Even with the rear seats slid forward, the total boot space only increases to 310 litres.
Despite these limitations, the cabin of the eVitara is pleasant but lacks the upscale feel found in some rival models. Soft-touch materials cover essential areas, and some versions feature a splash of color. However, the design lacks the originality seen in competing vehicles, and Suzuki has incorporated scratch-prone gloss black plastic in the interior.
In terms of storage, the eVitara offers decent options with spacious door bins, cupholders, a center console storage space, and a wireless phone charging pad. While these features are practical, there are no innovative storage solutions present.
One area where the eVitara falls short compared to its competitors is in the realm of technology. Although the vehicle has reduced the number of physical controls compared to previous Suzuki models, the infotainment system is new to the brand. While the system is visually appealing and relatively user-friendly, it suffers from slow responsiveness. This becomes particularly frustrating as the touchscreen is necessary to disable certain driver assistance features and activate amenities like heated seats.
