The Suzuki S-Cross has undergone a significant external transformation compared to its predecessor. While the interior has seen some updates in terms of a more modern infotainment system and some rubberised material on the dashboard, it still largely resembles the design from 2013.
The overall interior of the S-Cross is described as convenient and credible, but unfortunately, it falls short in terms of modern design and material quality. Compared to other cars in the market, the interior feels cheap and lacking in cheer. The ergonomics, however, are well thought out with comfortable seats and ample adjustment options for the driver’s seat and steering column.
In terms of space, the back seat offers decent legroom, although headroom may be an issue with the standard panoramic sunroof. The rear-seat environment feels somewhat barren with no ventilation openings or USB ports, which may be a drawback for families. The boot space is adequate but lacks any special features or storage options.
When it comes to driving assistance features, the lane-keeping assistance works well on the motorway but may struggle on country roads with faint white lines. The adaptive cruise control system is competent and can be easily adjusted or disabled using physical buttons near the steering wheel.
The infotainment system in the S-Cross is a new development by Suzuki but still lacks in features, response times, and graphical quality. However, the built-in functions are easy to navigate, and the navigation system offers clear directions and route options. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included as standard, with wireless connectivity. Unfortunately, there is no option for a wireless charger, and charging ports are limited to one USB-A port and one 12V port in the cabin.
Overall, the Suzuki S-Cross offers a practical and functional interior with some modern updates, but falls short in terms of material quality and design compared to its competitors. The driving assistance features are useful, and the infotainment system, while lacking in some areas, is easy to use and offers decent navigation capabilities.
