Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese solid-state battery company Talent New Energy recently announced a strategic partnership with Narada, a Chinese energy storage technology developer, in the field of solid-state batteries. This collaboration aims to advance the scale application of solid-state batteries in various sectors, including energy storage and consumer markets.

The agreement between Talent New Energy and Narada will leverage their respective strengths in research and development to promote the widespread use of solid-state batteries. The goal is to showcase the advantages and feasibility of solid-state batteries in energy storage applications and expand their usage in grid-side, power-side, and user-side scenarios.

Talent New Energy has outlined a roadmap for the mass production of solid-state batteries, introducing the concept of “material-reduction manufacturing” and establishing a “4-3-2-1” roadmap for its solid-state battery technology system. This roadmap involves gradually removing components from traditional lithium-ion batteries to create semi-solid-state and full-solid-state batteries suitable for various specialized applications.

In a landmark development, Talent New Energy and Changan Automobile unveiled separator-free solid-state lithium battery technology in November 2024, demonstrating the potential of this technology. The collaboration with Narada signifies a significant step towards exploring diverse applications of solid-state batteries in the energy storage market.

The partnership between Talent New Energy and Narada is based on complementary technologies and market demand. Narada has a strong track record in securing energy storage orders and conducting R&D on solid-state batteries, while Talent New Energy specializes in the R&D and manufacturing of solid-state batteries and key materials. This collaboration is expected to enhance Talent New Energy’s competitiveness in the energy storage sector by developing high-performance storage solutions with improved energy density, safety, and reliability.

Talent New Energy’s solid-state lithium battery with a capacity of 120Ah and an energy density of 720Wh/kg showcases the company’s commitment to innovation in the battery technology space. The company’s separator-free technology and ISFD technology have proven to be game-changers in improving battery safety, reducing costs, and achieving high production yields.

In the realm of energy storage, Talent New Energy’s separator-free semi-solid-state lithium battery has passed rigorous testing, exceeding national standards for temperature resistance and overcharging. The use of separator-free technology has also led to cost savings by reducing reliance on traditional separator materials and electrolyte components.

This collaboration between Talent New Energy and Narada holds promise for driving the adoption of solid-state batteries in energy storage applications. By integrating their expertise and technologies, the two companies are poised to make significant strides in advancing the scale application of solid-state batteries in the energy storage market.
