Tesla has recently introduced charging benefits for customers in China who purchase the Model 3 and Model Y, coinciding with the launch of the revamped Model Y and a price increase for the Model 3. This move aims to incentivize buyers and enhance the overall ownership experience for Tesla’s electric vehicles.

Starting immediately, buyers of the Model 3 or Model Y have the option to enjoy one of two charging perks, as announced by Tesla on Weibo. The first perk allows customers to purchase a Cybervault home charger for a discounted price of RMB 1,299 ($177), representing a significant 75 percent reduction from the original price of RMB 5,200. This home charger will enable owners to conveniently charge their Tesla vehicles at home, ensuring they are always ready for their next journey.

Alternatively, customers can opt to utilize Tesla’s Supercharging service at a reduced rate of RMB 1 per kWh, with a cap of 3 years or 5,000 kWh, after paying RMB 1,299. This benefit provides flexibility for owners who prefer to charge their vehicles at Tesla’s extensive network of Superchargers located throughout China.

In addition to the charging perks, Tesla has unveiled the facelifted Model Y in China, offering two variants under the “Launch Series.” These variants include a rear-wheel-drive version starting at RMB 263,500 and a long-range all-wheel-drive version starting at RMB 303,500. Compared to their predecessors, the prices of these models have increased by 5.44 percent and 4.33 percent, respectively. Notably, the performance variant with all-wheel drive is no longer available for the facelifted Model Y.

Furthermore, Tesla has raised the prices of all three variants of the Model 3 in China by RMB 3,600, while also extending the range of the sedan’s entry-level version by 28 kilometers. Both the Model 3 and Model Y are locally produced in Shanghai, with Tesla delivering vehicles to Chinese customers and exporting to international markets.

In 2024, Tesla China sold a total of 916,660 vehicles, including exports, marking a slight decrease of 3.28 percent compared to the previous year. The company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction continues to drive its success in the competitive electric vehicle market.

Overall, Tesla’s introduction of charging perks for Model 3 and Model Y buyers in China reflects its dedication to enhancing the ownership experience and promoting sustainable transportation solutions. With the launch of the facelifted Model Y and price adjustments for the Model 3, Tesla remains at the forefront of the electric vehicle industry, offering cutting-edge technology and unparalleled customer benefits to its loyal clientele.
