Tesla has recently launched the Actually Smart Summon (ASS) feature in China, following its availability in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. This feature allows Tesla vehicles to autonomously drive to the driver, making it a convenient and futuristic addition to the company’s already impressive lineup of features.
The Actually Smart Summon feature is part of the Full Self-Driving (FSD) and Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) software packages, meaning it is not available to owners with the free Basic Autopilot (BAP) software. In China, the FSD package costs RMB 64,000 yuan ($8,790), while the EAP package costs RMB 32,000 yuan.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk first proposed the Actually Smart Summon feature two years ago, and it utilizes Tesla Vision technology, eliminating the need for additional sensors like radar. This feature allows owners to summon their vehicles from a parking space to a specific nearby location, providing added convenience and ease of use.
In addition to the launch of the Actually Smart Summon feature in China, Tesla announced that customers who purchase a Tesla vehicle through a trade-in will receive 90 days of free EAP access. This offer is aimed at incentivizing customers to experience the full range of features and capabilities that Tesla vehicles have to offer.
Tesla’s vehicles have been extremely popular in China, with the company achieving its highest monthly sales figure of 73,490 vehicles in November. This strong performance has contributed to Tesla’s overall success in the Chinese market, with retail sales reaching 574,175 vehicles in the January-November period, representing an 8.77 percent year-on-year increase.
The availability of the Actually Smart Summon feature in China further enhances Tesla’s position in the market, offering customers cutting-edge technology and innovative features that set its vehicles apart from the competition.
