Tesla Launches Refreshed Model Y in China

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Tesla has officially announced the start of deliveries for the refreshed Model Y in China. The updated model is now available in two variants, catering to different preferences and needs of customers in the Chinese market. The rear-wheel-drive (RWD) launch edition starts at 263,500 yuan, while the long-range all-wheel-drive (AWD) launch edition is priced from 303,500 yuan.

Tesla China unveiled the refreshed Model Y on January 10, with production kicking off at the Gigafactory Shanghai on February 18.

The new Model Y features a more aerodynamic design while keeping iconic Tesla elements such as a panoramic glass roof, frameless doors, and flush door handles. The interior maintains Tesla’s minimalist style with a 15-inch squared display and an AMD Ryzen-powered infotainment system. Updates include wraparound ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and extended rear seats for increased cargo space when folded.

For safety and technology, the refreshed Model Y is equipped with Tesla’s Autopilot hardware AI 4.0, which includes a front bumper blind-spot camera, door blind-spot warning lights, 16 speakers, eight cameras, and a sturdy body structure. It also comes with a far-side airbag for enhanced protection.

The Model Y is available in RWD, long-range AWD, and performance versions, offering different power outputs and acceleration speeds. The long-range AWD version boasts the longest range in Model Y history, reaching up to 719 km with an energy consumption of just 11.9 kWh/100 km. A quick 15-minute charge can add approximately 250 km of range.
