Toyota to reveal new RAV4 on 21 May

Toyota has unveiled the first images of the upcoming next-generation RAV4, set to be fully revealed on May 21st. The new SUV appears to have a more rugged design compared to its predecessor, drawing inspiration from the Land Cruiser. The sleek hammerhead-style headlights, similar to those found on the Urban Cruiser and updated bZ4X, give the RAV4 a modern and stylish look.

Inside, the Mk6 RAV4 boasts a similar display setup to its siblings, the Land Cruiser and Urban Cruiser, featuring a pair of ‘floating’ screens. The cabin is also equipped with a chunky centre console, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal.

While Toyota has not yet confirmed the powertrain options for the new RAV4, it is expected to continue offering the 302bhp plug-in hybrid system found in the current model. With enhancements in power and electric range, the new RAV4 is likely to deliver improved performance and efficiency.

The sixth-generation RAV4 is poised to make a significant impact in the UK market, where sales have not been as strong as in other regions. Despite being a top-seller in the US, the RAV4 only sold around 6100 units in the UK last year out of a total of 101,000 worldwide. Toyota is aiming to attract more customers with the new model, which is anticipated to have a higher starting price than the current £44,395. Sales are expected to kick off towards the end of the year.

Overall, the next-generation RAV4 promises to offer a blend of rugged styling, advanced technology, and improved performance, making it a compelling choice for SUV enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated release.
