The Revamped Volvo S90: A Closer Look at the Updates
The Volvo S90 has undergone a significant facelift, with enhancements to both its exterior design and interior technology, as well as improvements to its electric range for the plug-in hybrid variant.
One of the most noticeable visual changes is the updated front grille, which now mirrors the design seen on the revised XC90 and XC60 SUVs. The lighting signatures at the front and rear have also been sharpened, aligning the S90 with the styling cues of the new ES90 EV.
To enhance interior comfort, additional sound insulation has been added, while adaptive suspension now comes as standard across the range.
On the inside, the 11.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been upgraded to improve responsiveness and now supports over-the-air updates.
Buyers can choose between mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, with the latter now offering an increased electric range of 50 miles, up from 46. While specific performance figures have not been released by Volvo, the new S90 promises an engaging driving experience.
Although the new S90 will not be available in the UK market, Volvo is focusing on international markets for its rollout. The model is set to debut in China this summer before reaching other countries.
Looking ahead, the S90’s successor, the ES90, is expected to arrive in the UK next year. With prices ranging from approximately £70,000 to just under £90,000, the ES90 is poised to offer a premium driving experience.
