The recently updated Volvo XC60 is now available for purchase, starting at £49,240, as Volvo aims to keep its best-selling model relevant in the market. The top-of-the-line T8 Plug-in Hybrid Ultra Black Edition is priced at £69,860 and deliveries are set to begin in the third quarter of this year.
One of the most noticeable changes to the XC60 is its revamped exterior, featuring a new grille similar to the latest XC90 model and darker rear lights. The SUV will also come with new wheel designs, although specific UK specifications have yet to be confirmed.
Inside the cabin, the XC60 now boasts a larger 11.2-inch infotainment touchscreen that is elevated above the dashboard surface. Powered by a more advanced chip from Qualcomm, the system is now twice as responsive to inputs and features crisper graphics. The interior has also been upgraded with more luxurious materials, including upholstery options like a combination of Nordico synthetic leather and herringbone-pattern fabric, enhancing cabin refinement.
While the powertrains remain unchanged, customers can still choose from a 248bhp mild-hybrid petrol engine or two plug-in hybrids with outputs of 345bhp and 449bhp. Cars equipped with coil-sprung suspension will benefit from new dampers aimed at improving ride comfort, although the air suspension setup remains the same.
The fact that Volvo has updated the XC60 so shortly before the release of its electric counterpart, the EX60 (expected next year), indicates that the XC60 will continue to be a staple in Volvo’s lineup for the foreseeable future. With these updates, Volvo is ensuring that the XC60 remains a competitive option in the luxury SUV segment.
