Windrose, the innovative electric semi truck manufacturer, is making big moves in the industry. The company recently secured a groundbreaking $60 million deal with Nevoya, a US-based zero emissions logistics company. This deal will see Windrose supplying several hundred of its long-range, battery-powered heavy-duty trucks to Nevoya, marking the startup’s largest North American order to date.
To meet the demands of this deal, Windrose has already begun shipping its first batch of “knock-down kits” to the US, where the sleeper cabs will be assembled onto Windrose’s electric chassis. The company has utilized its own electric trucks to complete the logistics process between warehouses and ports in Shanghai and Los Angeles, creating a fully zero-emission transport loop.
In addition to this major deal, Windrose has also announced plans to expand into South America through a partnership with Chilean logistics firm Trailerlogistics Sudamerica. Chile has ambitious goals for zero-emission sales of freight transport and intercity buses by 2045, aligning with its National Electromobility Strategy for carbon neutrality by 2050. Trailerlogistics Sudamerica is excited to electrify their fleet with Windrose trucks, citing Chile’s open trade agreements and diverse terrain as ideal for testing the company’s EV technology.
The first Windrose trucks will arrive in Chile later this year for route testing, with a goal of deploying up to 100 trucks by the end of 2026. This expansion into South America marks Windrose’s presence on its 5th continent, showcasing the company’s commitment to sustainable transportation solutions on a global scale.
