Lu Weibing stated that Xiaomi’s automotive factory will begin operating in double shifts starting in June to increase production capacity. He expressed confidence that monthly deliveries for the SU7 model could exceed 10,000 units in June, with a target of 120,000 units for the entire year of 2024.

Since its launch on March 28, the Xiaomi SU7 has experienced strong sales, with orders surging post-launch. By midnight on April 30, confirmed orders had reached 88,063 units.

Xiaomi Group’s Founder, Chairman, and CEO, Lei Jun, previously mentioned that the Xiaomi EV factory can produce 40 Xiaomi SU7 vehicles per hour, equating to one vehicle every 76 seconds. With the introduction of double shifts, the factory is expected to reach a full monthly production capacity of nearly 20,000 vehicles.

Furthermore, Xiaomi is making progress on the construction of its second-phase factory in Beijing’s Yizhuang New Town. This new facility, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles, is set to commence construction in 2024 and be completed by 2025.

Xiaomi also has plans to significantly expand its sales and service network. By the end of 2024, Xiaomi EV aims to establish 219 sales stores across 46 cities and 143 service centers covering 86 cities in China.
