Xiaomi EV says it delivered over 28,000 units in Apr

Xiaomi’s electric vehicle (EV) unit, Xiaomi EV, has once again achieved impressive delivery numbers in April, with over 28,000 units being delivered. This marks the seventh consecutive month that Xiaomi EV has surpassed 20,000 units in monthly deliveries, although it is slightly lower than the previous month’s figure of “over 29,000 units.”

The company’s flagship model, the SU7 electric sedan, has been a major contributor to these strong delivery numbers. Launched in March 2024 as a competitor to Tesla’s Model 3, the SU7 comes in three variants – Standard, Pro, and Max – with varying starting prices. Deliveries of the Standard and Max versions began in April 2024, while deliveries of the SU7 Pro commenced in May 2024.

In February 2025, Xiaomi unveiled the SU7 Ultra, a high-performance version of the regular SU7 with 1,548 Ps of maximum horsepower. Priced at RMB 529,900, the SU7 Ultra has garnered significant interest from consumers.

Looking ahead, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the YU7, an electric SUV that will compete with Tesla’s Model Y. Anticipated to debut in June or July, the YU7 is expected to further strengthen Xiaomi’s presence in the EV market.

Despite the strong demand for Xiaomi EV vehicles, the company continues to face challenges related to production capacity. Customers ordering any of the regular SU7 variants currently face a waiting period of approximately 40 weeks, reflecting the strain on factory capacity. This is an increase from the initial launch period of about 30 weeks, highlighting the need for further expansion and optimization of production facilities.

In response to the growing demand, Xiaomi has been actively expanding its manufacturing capabilities. The company initiated the construction of a second factory in Beijing last year, with plans for further expansion to accommodate the increasing production requirements. This strategic move underscores Xiaomi’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the EV market and solidifying its position as a key player in the industry.

With a strong product portfolio, innovative technology, and a customer-centric approach, Xiaomi EV is poised for continued growth and success in the competitive electric vehicle market. As the company navigates the challenges of production capacity constraints, it remains focused on delivering high-quality vehicles that meet the expectations of discerning consumers.
