Xiaomi founder Lei Jun has expressed his excitement for the production version of the SU7 Ultra, referring to it as his dream car. This vehicle, created by Xiaomi EV, is designed for individuals who seek top-notch performance in their cars.
The SU7 Ultra production version is set to be revealed tomorrow, with Xiaomi EV teasing some details through posters on Weibo. One notable feature of the performance variant is the carbon fiber rear wing, which has been redesigned from the SU7 Ultra prototype.
Lei Jun took to Weibo to emphasize that the production version of the SU7 Ultra embodies peak performance, cutting-edge technology, and an unparalleled driving experience. This car is versatile enough to be driven on regular streets as well as on a race track, catering to enthusiasts who crave a thrilling driving experience.
In a post on Weibo, Lei Jun expressed his sentiment by stating, “This is my Dreamcar,” underscoring his passion for the project. The official unveiling of the production version of the SU7 Ultra is scheduled for October 29 at 7 pm Beijing time, with reservations already open for interested buyers. The SU7 electric sedan marks Xiaomi’s entry into the automotive market, offering three variants – Standard, Pro, and Max – with prices starting from RMB 215,900 ($30,270).
The SU7 Ultra prototype was initially showcased by Lei Jun on July 19, highlighting its focus on performance and track capabilities. The production version, set to hit the market in the first half of 2025, will retain the same chassis structure, three motors, and battery pack as the prototype.
Equipped with Xiaomi’s V8s motors generating up to 1,548 horsepower, the SU7 Ultra prototype can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 1.97 seconds. Goldman Sachs projects that Xiaomi’s SU7 Ultra will sell around 4,000 units next year, contributing 5 percent of its EV revenue.
Xiaomi EV has seen consistent deliveries of over 10,000 SU7 units for four consecutive months, with plans to produce and deliver more than 20,000 vehicles in October. The production version of the SU7 Ultra is expected to be slightly more expensive than the prototype, maintaining its focus on performance and driving excellence.
