Xiaomi EV, the car-making arm of Xiaomi, has announced that deliveries of the highly anticipated Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will begin on March 2 at 10 am Beijing time. The company made this announcement on Weibo, signaling the imminent availability of this ultra-performance electric sedan.
The SU7 Ultra was officially unveiled at a recent event, where Xiaomi did not provide a specific delivery date but promised that deliveries would commence shortly. This model is a high-performance version of the regular SU7, featuring three motors capable of delivering an impressive 1,548 horsepower. With the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 1.98 seconds and from 0 to 200 kilometers per hour in 6.09 seconds, Xiaomi claims that the SU7 Ultra is the fastest four-door production car in the world.
Priced at RMB 529,900 ($72,930), the SU7 Ultra is significantly more affordable than its previously marketed pre-sales price of RMB 814,900, making it an attractive option for performance car enthusiasts. Customers in China can now place orders for a customized SU7 Ultra starting from 10 pm last night and can expect prompt arrangements for production.
Interestingly, Xiaomi has already produced a number of SU7 Ultra vehicles in advance, allowing interested customers to secure their orders for quick delivery. Within just 16 minutes of opening orders, Xiaomi EV reported over 6,900 orders for the SU7 Ultra, highlighting the strong demand for this model.
To meet the high demand and accelerate deliveries, Xiaomi EV has announced plans to increase production capacity. Furthermore, the company is set to showcase the SU7 Ultra at the upcoming MWC 2025 event in Barcelona, Spain, on March 3, marking its overseas debut.
While test-drive cars of the SU7 Ultra may not be widely available at the moment, Xiaomi EV’s sales team will arrange test drives for customers in the order in which they pay deposits. Additionally, Xiaomi EV has expanded its presence in China by adding five new stores in February, bringing the total number of stores to 220 across 65 Chinese cities. The company aims to open 16 more stores in March to cater to the growing demand for its electric vehicles.
With the SU7 Ultra already surpassing its annual sales target of 10,000 units within just 2 hours of availability, Xiaomi EV is well-positioned to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. The combination of high performance, competitive pricing, and strong customer demand bodes well for the success of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in the automotive industry.
