Commencing with their mass-produced models in 2026, XPENG will integrate Connext Drive into their vehicles to facilitate data distribution, enabling the introduction of smarter and more efficient vehicles equipped with cutting-edge technologies.

Yu Peng, Vice President of XPENG, highlighted the significance of having a unified communication framework capable of managing the extensive data requirements across their diverse vehicle lineup. “RTI Connext Drive is renowned in the industry for its flexibility, reliability, and extensive validation. With RTI’s expertise in the Data Distribution Service (DDS™) standard and proven track record in complex system services, this collaboration will empower XPENG to expedite the development of future vehicles while mitigating risks,” Peng emphasized.

Connext Drive, built on the DDS standard, offers a sophisticated software framework for real-time data processing, adaptable to various enterprise application scenarios. It is platform-agnostic, boasting advanced communication capabilities that support the foundational data infrastructure for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving functionalities. By being hardware-independent, Connext Drive provides a robust solution for seamlessly integrating new technologies without necessitating extensive infrastructure modifications, enabling XPENG to continuously enhance their vehicles without the need for software rewrites.
