Xpeng Motors has recently made a significant stride in its global expansion strategy by commencing local production in Indonesia. This milestone was marked by the delivery of the first locally assembled Xpeng X9 at the 2025 Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS 2025). Indonesia has become Xpeng’s first overseas market for domestic manufacturing, signaling the company’s commitment to global localization.

During the exhibition, Xpeng showcased a diverse range of products, including the Xpeng X9, Xpeng G6, a prototype of their flying car, and the AI-powered humanoid robot IRON. Indonesia, known for its young population and growing interest in electric vehicles, presents a lucrative market for Xpeng’s smart and eco-friendly vehicles.
Xpeng’s operations in Indonesia encompass manufacturing, talent development, and product localization to better cater to the needs of local consumers. The company is also ramping up its sales and service network, with plans to cover 70% of core urban centers and 85% of high-density areas by the end of the year.

The Xpeng X9, designed as the first model for export production, offers a spacious seven-seat layout with power-folding third-row seats, catering to the family-oriented market in Indonesia.
Having embarked on its globalization journey in 2020, Xpeng has expanded its presence to 46 countries and regions, achieving remarkable success in 10 European markets and surpassing 800,000 units in cumulative global deliveries. The milestone in Indonesia reflects Xpeng’s strategy of “localized manufacturing + technology export + brand deepening,” showcasing its commitment to operational efficiency and market penetration in overseas territories.
