Xpeng has recently introduced new variants for the Mona M03, with the Max variant offering similar capabilities to Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. The launch event saw a significant response, with the Max variant accounting for 83 percent of the first hour’s orders.

The Mona M03 Max and Plus variants received a total of 12,566 firm orders within the first hour of availability, surpassing the performance of the initial launch last year. Xpeng officially unveiled these new variants, with the Max variant priced at RMB 129,800 ($18,040) and RMB 139,800, offering CLTC ranges of 502 km and 600 km, respectively. On the other hand, the Mona M03 Plus starts at RMB 119,800 and RMB 129,800, with CLTC ranges of 515 km and 620 km, respectively.

One of the key highlights of the Mona M03 Max is the Turing smart driving system, providing advanced AI-assisted driving capabilities without additional fees or subscriptions. This system covers all public roads in China and is comparable to Tesla’s FSD. The vehicle is powered by two Nvidia Orin-X smart driving chips, delivering high computing power and enabling seamless human-machine co-piloting.

In contrast, the Mona M03 Plus does not feature the Turing smart driving system but includes essential driving assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assistance, and parking assistance. The Mona M03 series has gained popularity as Xpeng’s best-selling model, with 14,210 units delivered in April alone, accounting for a significant portion of the company’s monthly deliveries.

Looking ahead, Xpeng’s chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng, hinted at more new models to be released in the Mona series, targeting the global market. The company continues to innovate and expand its product offerings to meet the evolving demands of the electric vehicle market.

Overall, Xpeng’s new Mona M03 variants have generated significant interest and positive response from consumers, showcasing the company’s commitment to delivering advanced technology and innovative features in its electric vehicles. With the introduction of the Max variant and its cutting-edge driving capabilities, Xpeng is poised to further solidify its position in the competitive EV market.
