Xpeng, a prominent player in the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) market, is gearing up for a major product refresh in 2025. The company has already started the process by previewing its upcoming flagship SUV model, the 2025 G9. This follows the recent unveiling of the G7 in January and the upcoming launch of the updated G6 next week.

In 2024, Xpeng delivered a total of 190,068 vehicles, with the G9 contributing 26,954 units, accounting for 14.18% of the company’s sales. The G9 has been a significant model for Xpeng, showcasing the brand’s commitment to innovation and technology.

The 2025 Xpeng G9 is being positioned as an AI flagship SUV with cutting-edge technology that aims to redefine the mobility experience. The company recently shared several images of the G9 on Weibo, giving a glimpse of what to expect from this highly anticipated model.

Initially launched on September 21, 2022, the G9 faced some criticism due to its confusing configuration. However, Xpeng addressed these issues with the launch of the 2024 G9 on September 19, 2023, offering a more streamlined and competitively priced version of the SUV.

The G9 has been lauded for its full-scenario intelligent assisted driving capabilities and support for 800-volt ultra-fast charging, making it a standout model in the EV industry. Additionally, it was the first model to feature a dual-chamber air suspension in its price range, further solidifying its place as a top-tier SUV.

Xpeng’s strategic partnership with Volkswagen further enhanced the G9’s reputation, leading to collaborations on new models based on the G9 platform. The 2025 G9 promises to build on this success, with upgrades to 66 feature experiences aimed at delivering a superior driving and ownership experience.

The regulatory catalog from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed key details about the 2025 G9, including its dimensions and motor options. The model will be available in both single and dual motor configurations, with advanced features like a pure vision solution for its smart driving system.

With the launch of the updated G6 and G9 in 2025, Xpeng is poised to make a significant impact on the EV market. The company’s focus on innovation, technology, and customer experience sets it apart as a leader in the industry. Stay tuned for more updates on Xpeng’s latest offerings and developments in the electric vehicle sector.
