Yueda Kia, the joint venture between Kia Corporation and China’s Yueda Automobile Group, continues to see strong growth in vehicle sales and production. In September 2024, the company achieved a sales volume of 21,958 vehicles, representing a significant year-on-year increase of 32.2%. This marks the fourth consecutive month that Yueda Kia has surpassed 20,000 units in sales.

Furthermore, the company’s vehicle production also saw a notable growth, reaching 22,200 units in September, reflecting a 17.6% increase compared to the same period last year. For the first nine months of 2024, Yueda Kia’s cumulative sales reached 176,201 units, surpassing its total sales for the entire year of 2023. This represents a remarkable 57% growth year-on-year. During the same period, the company’s vehicle production totaled 171,360 units, demonstrating a significant 78% spike over the previous year.

Yueda Kia has been introducing several new models this year, including the K3 Special Edition, the entry-level SUV Sonet, and the 2025 Kia K5. These new releases have helped strengthen the company’s position in the fuel vehicle sector. The 2025 Kia K5, launched in September, features enhanced smart safety and comfort configurations, bringing high-end features to more affordable versions and increasing its overall value for customers.

In line with its electrification strategy, Yueda Kia is expanding its lineup of new energy vehicles (NEVs). Following the launches of the EV5 and EV6, the company introduced the long-range version of the EV5 this year. The EV5, a special model celebrating Kia’s 80th anniversary, is the brand’s first vehicle to debut and be manufactured in China for global sales. It is already being exported to developed markets such as Australia and New Zealand, as well as key markets in Thailand, Qatar, Chile, and Colombia.

Yueda Kia is actively building its export base, supported by Kia and the Yancheng government. The company’s Yancheng 4.0 intelligent manufacturing plant has demonstrated strong production capabilities. With a robust export lineup including the EV5, Sportage, Seltos, K5, Sonet, and Pegas, Yueda Kia’s export sales have surpassed 300,000 units with a cumulative export value exceeding $3.6 billion. The company’s products are now available in 76 countries across Asia-Pacific, Southeast Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Latin America.

Additionally, Yueda Kia has made significant progress in its engine export business, with over 300,000 engines exported to various countries. Looking ahead, the company aims to expand its vehicle and engine export scale, targeting an increase in the number of countries exported to beyond 80, with an annual goal of reaching 170,000 vehicle exports.

With its strong performance in sales, production, and exports, Yueda Kia is poised for continued growth and success in the automotive industry.
