Zeekr Achieves Milestone with 500,000th Production Vehicle
The Zeekr brand, a premium electric vehicle (EV) unit under Geely, reached a significant milestone today as its 500,000th production vehicle, a Zeekr 009 Grand MPV, rolled off the production line. This marks a momentous occasion for the brand, showcasing its growth and success in the EV market.
The Zeekr 009 Grand MPV, a 6-seat/7-seat model, was produced at Zeekr’s factory in Ningbo, Zhejiang province. This achievement comes 44 months after the first production vehicle of Zeekr’s initial model, the Zeekr 001 shooting brake, was introduced in October 2021.
In addition to the 500,000th vehicle, the 500,001st production vehicle of the Zeekr brand, a Zeekr 001, also rolled off the assembly line today. The average price per vehicle for Zeekr is nearly RMB 300,000 ($41,750), reflecting the brand’s positioning in the premium EV market.
With a cumulative delivery volume of 492,794 units as of the end of May, Zeekr continues to make strides in the EV industry. In May alone, the brand delivered 18,908 vehicles, further solidifying its presence in the market.
The Zeekr 009 series, which includes the Zeekr 009 Grand, delivered 1,552 units in May, while the Zeekr 001 delivered 2,375 units. The brand’s diverse lineup also includes models such as the Zeekr X compact SUV, Zeekr 007 sedan, Zeekr 7X SUV, and Zeekr Mix mini van.
Looking ahead, Zeekr plans to launch its full-size ultra-luxury flagship SUV, the Zeekr 9X, in the third quarter. This new model aims to further expand Zeekr’s product offerings and cater to the evolving needs of consumers.
In addition to its domestic market success, Zeekr is also focusing on international expansion, with a presence in over 40 countries and regions. The recent launch of the Zeekr 7X in Hong Kong demonstrates the brand’s commitment to global growth and innovation.
Furthermore, Zeekr’s integration with Lynk & Co under the Zeekr Group umbrella has strengthened its position in the EV market. Geely’s proposal to take Zeekr private highlights the company’s confidence in the brand’s future growth and potential.
