The expansion project will involve leasing additional space in Anting Town, Jiading District, Shanghai, covering a construction area of approximately 3,700 square meters. This move aims to enhance ZF’s EPS production capacity, with operations set to commence by the end of 2025.
ZF’s EPS system, known for its comprehensive product line and exceptional steering performance, is designed to support Level 3 and above autonomous driving functions. By leveraging advanced power electronics and electric motor control technologies, the system offers improved vehicle performance, driver comfort, and safety while being environmentally friendly due to lower energy consumption.
Since localizing EPS production in China in 2010, ZF has introduced cutting-edge technologies to the market. The company achieved mass production of dual-redundant steering products for Level 3/Level 4 autonomous driving in 2022 and is set to launch its steer-by-wire system in the first quarter of 2025.
With a focus on innovation and localization, ZF continues to invest in new factories and technical centers across China. The company’s commitment to advancing its localization strategy is evident in the successful production of rear-wheel-steering systems in 2024, with additional technologies slated for local production in 2025.
ZF Automotive Technologies (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is dedicated to developing automotive safety systems, electronics, driver assistance systems, and vehicle motion control technologies. Its EPS portfolio includes various steering systems to cater to the evolving mobility needs of customers.
