2025 Audi S3 Sedan review

For nearly two decades, the Audi S3 has been the go-to compact performance car for those looking for a balance of power and sophistication without the ‘boy racer’ stigma. With each generation, Audi has refined the S3 formula, making it more mature and focused, while leaving the extreme performance to the RS3 models.

The latest facelift for the fourth-generation A3 lineup brought significant upgrades to the S3 Sportback and Sedan. More power and torque, along with a new rear torque-splitting differential and enhanced handling, have made this the quickest and most dynamic S3 ever. The S3 now stands out more from its Volkswagen Golf R cousin, offering a more premium experience.

In terms of design, the S3 retains Audi’s signature understated elegance, with subtle enhancements to distinguish it from the regular A3. Inside, the S3 boasts Fine Nappa leather seats with diamond contrast stitching, dinamica suede trim inlays, and a range of unique performance displays for the digital instrument cluster.

The driving experience of the new S3 has been significantly improved. The reworked front and rear axles, along with the new rear torque splitter, provide sharper handling and improved traction. The S3 is equally capable on everyday drives as it is on spirited drives through twisty roads.

In terms of safety, the S3 comes equipped with a suite of driver assists, including adaptive cruise assist, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keep assist. The S3 has not yet been rated by ANCAP, but it is expected to maintain the five-star safety rating of its predecessor.

The Audi S3 is offered in both Sedan and Sportback variants, with pricing reflecting the premium nature of the vehicle. While the S3 is more expensive than some rivals, it offers a well-rounded package of performance, luxury, and technology.

Overall, the new Audi S3 is a compelling choice in the premium compact hot hatch segment. It offers a blend of power, sophistication, and everyday usability that sets it apart from its competitors. Whether you choose the Sedan or Sportback, the S3 delivers a premium driving experience that is sure to satisfy enthusiasts and daily drivers alike.
