The luxury crossover segment is as competitive as ever, with the popular BMW X3 taking on rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, and Genesis GV70. The new X3 is more powerful and efficient than ever before, earning a TCC Rating of 6.8 out of 10. As independent crash-testing is completed, this rating is expected to increase even further.

The 2025 X3 comes with updated engines and a fully electric model expected for 2026, rumored to be the iX3 with a possible M performance variant. The exterior of the X3 has been redesigned, featuring flatter and smoother body sides, a broader kidney grille, pronounced fender flares, and a racier LED signature. The fourth-generation X3 has grown in size and roominess while only adding about 50 pounds in weight.

Inside, the X3 boasts a less polarizing design with innovative elements like a boomerang-like inset on the doors, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a customizable digital instrument cluster, and a large touchscreen. The X3 is available in two variants: the X3 30 xDrive and the M50 xDrive, both equipped with standard all-wheel drive and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system for increased fuel economy.

The X3 30 xDrive is powered by a 255-hp 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine with a smooth stop/start system and quick-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. The M50 xDrive offers a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 engine with 393 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque, providing plenty of thrills and a comfortable cruising experience. Adaptive dampers and other performance enhancements are available on the M50.

The 2025 BMW X3 30 xDrive starts at $50,675, while the M50 xDrive is priced at $65,275. Standard features include heated power front seats, a large digital screen combo, and advanced safety features. Options include Merino leather, a panoramic sunroof, and various tire and wheel choices.

The 2025 BMW X3 is manufactured in Spartanburg, South Carolina, alongside other BMW crossover SUVs. With its updated engines, advanced technology, and luxurious features, the BMW X3 continues to be a strong contender in the luxury crossover segment.
