Honda Civic Review 2025, Price & Specs

When Honda launched the new Civic in 2022, it marked a significant departure from their previous interiors. Gone were the cluttered lines and outdated multimedia system, replaced with a more refined and stylish design that echoed the success of the HR-V.

The interior of the Civic is a study in simplicity, with clean lines and a wide air-vent grille that spans the dashboard. Despite the sleek appearance, Honda has not sacrificed functionality for style. The cabin features tactile knobs for adjusting temperature and fan speed, as well as plenty of physical buttons for easy access to essential functions.

While the materials used in the Civic’s interior may not match the premium feel of competitors like the Mazda 3 or BMW 1 Series, they are certainly on par with offerings from Volkswagen and above those found in the Toyota Corolla. The central touchscreen, while slightly awkwardly positioned on top of the dashboard, does not overwhelm the interior. However, the resolution of the screen leaves something to be desired, and the built-in navigation system can be cumbersome to use. Thankfully, the inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (now wireless) provides a more user-friendly alternative.

The digital instrument cluster in the Civic is functional but lacks the extra features that some competitors offer. The driving position is comfortable, though some may find the seats lacking in cushioning and support. With its longer length compared to rivals like the Golf and Corolla, the Civic offers ample interior space, particularly in the rear where passengers enjoy generous legroom.

In terms of practicality, the Civic impresses with its 410-litre boot capacity, though it falls short of the Skoda Octavia. The wide hatch opening and unique sideways-opening load cover make the Civic’s boot space both convenient and versatile. It’s worth noting that competitors like the Corolla and Golf also offer estate versions with extended wheelbases for even more cargo space.

Overall, the Honda Civic’s interior represents a significant improvement over previous models, offering a blend of style and functionality that puts it on par with some of the best in its class. Whether you prioritize comfort, practicality, or technology, the Civic delivers a well-rounded driving experience that is sure to appeal to a wide range of buyers.
