Uncertain Future for Focus Factory
Production of the fourth-generation Ford Focus will come to an end in November, marking the conclusion of an era. The Saarlouis plant in Germany, where the Focus is currently manufactured, is set to remain operational until 2032, although specific plans for the facility post-2025 have not been disclosed.
While discussions with German unions continue, the Focus remains a significant player in the automotive segment. With other manufacturers exiting similar markets, Ford’s decision to discontinue the model raises questions about the future of compact hatchbacks.
Despite its age, the Focus continues to attract buyers, with over 81,000 units sold in 2024. The model outperformed competitors like the Opel Astra and Mercedes A-Class, showcasing its enduring popularity.
