The New Hyundai Palisade Gets a Weird High Roof Version

The Hyundai Palisade Highroof is a unique and specialized version of the popular family SUV, offering a raised roof for extra interior space. While the design may not be the most attractive due to the bulge on the roof, it provides added headroom for passengers inside the already spacious cabin.

This isn’t Hyundai’s first foray into this niche segment, as they have previously offered taller roofline versions of other models like the Staria Lounge Limousine and the Kia Carnival Hi-Limousine. The Palisade sets itself apart by starting as an SUV rather than a minivan with sliding doors.

Standing at 78.8 inches tall, the Palisade Highroof is 9.3 inches taller than the standard model, while maintaining the same length of 199.2 inches. The unique SUV also features different 20-inch wheels that are exclusive to the Highroof version. The raised roof may impact fuel consumption due to added weight and decreased aerodynamics, leading to increased wind resistance.

While attendees at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show were unable to enter the pre-production Palisade Highroof, they were able to see some of its interior features. Rear passengers can enjoy a folding center screen in the ceiling, heated and cooled cup holders, and a wireless charging pad. These luxury amenities add to the appeal of this specialized version of the Hyundai Palisade.
