BYD has recently unveiled their latest electric vehicles, the Han L sedan and Tang L SUV, which are based on their new Super e-platform featuring ultra-fast charging capabilities. These new models are set to revolutionize the EV market with prices starting at just $30,000.

The launch event on April 9 showcased BYD’s engineering prowess, claiming to have achieved the “master realm of Chinese technology.” The Han L and Tang L are the first EVs to be built on BYD’s 1000V Super e-platform, which was introduced last month. CEO Wang Chuanfu emphasized the importance of fast charging to alleviate range anxiety, stating that the ultimate solution is to make charging as quick as refueling a gasoline car.

The Han L sedan comes in three trims, with prices starting at 219,800 yuan ($30,000), making it an affordable option for consumers. Powered by an 83.2 kWh BYD Blade battery, the Han L offers up to 435 miles of driving range and features a 10C charge rate with two charge guns. In just five minutes, the Han L can gain 248 miles of range, making it a convenient option for on-the-go charging.

The Tang L SUV, also based on the 1000V architecture, starts at 239,800 yuan ($32,700) and is powered by a 100.5 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 435 miles. With the ability to gain 230 miles of range in just five minutes, the Tang L is a practical choice for those looking for a fast-charging option.

Both the Han L and Tang L come equipped with BYD’s God’s Eye smart driving assist system, providing enhanced safety and convenience features. Additionally, these models are available as PHEVs, offering even more flexibility for consumers.
