Nissan has recently announced its plans to introduce the next-generation ProPILOT autonomous driving system in the fiscal year starting in April 2027. This new system will incorporate the Ground Truth Perception driver-assistance technology, which is expected to significantly enhance collision-avoidance capabilities. Additionally, the next-generation ProPILOT will feature advanced LiDAR technology and Wayve AI Driver software.

The upcoming ProPILOT system from Nissan is poised to redefine the standards of autonomous driving by offering advanced collision avoidance features. The Wayve AI Driver software, developed on Wayve’s embodied AI foundation model, is designed to tackle complex real-world driving scenarios in a manner similar to human drivers. The system’s ability to learn quickly from extensive data sets ensures continuous improvement in performance.

Nissan highlighted Wayve as a global AI company at the forefront of developing embodied AI for the automotive industry. The embodied AI foundation model, trained on vast real-world experiences using custom GenAI technology, enables point-to-point driving in urban and highway environments with enhanced safety and reliability. This foundation model excels at adapting to new situations and platforms, facilitating the widespread deployment of autonomous driving technology.

In conclusion, Nissan’s next-generation ProPILOT system is set to revolutionize autonomous driving with its cutting-edge collision avoidance capabilities and advanced AI technology. By leveraging the expertise of Wayve in developing embodied AI solutions, Nissan aims to deliver a system that ensures safer and more efficient driving experiences for users.
